As a major academic partner, the Energy Economics and Management Center of the School contributed to the organization of the first online conference of the International Association for Energy Economics, which took place from June 7 to 9 on the theme “Energy, Covid and Climate Change”.
The event, originally scheduled to be held in Paris, brought together more than 1,000 participants from around the world, including academics, industry experts and institutional leaders. They addressed current and future energy economics issues during 16 plenary sessions and 138 concurrent sessions.
Professor Olivier Massol, Scientific Advisor to the Dean of IFP School, was in charge of the organization of these 138 sessions and chaired the plenary session entitled “The role of gas in the energy transition” during which took part the following speakers:
- Professor Masakazu Toyoda, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Energy Economics of Japan (IEEJ) ;
- Doctor Tatiana Mitrova of the Center on Global Energy Policy of Columbia University ;
- Professor Charles Mason of the University of Wyoming and
- Mr. Dominique Mockly, Chief Executive Officer of Terega.
Professors Maxime Schenckery, Director of the Energy Economics and Management Center, Frédéric Lantz, Manager of the research-oriented Master’s degree in Environmental, Energy and Transportation Economics and Victor Court, lecturer-researcher, IFPEN researchers Emmanuel Hache and Benoît Chèze, as well as PhD students Pierre Cayet, Margaux Escoffier, Emma Jagu, Alexis Lebeau and María Juliana Suárez Forero also took part in the conference by chairing concurrent sessions, presenting their thesis work and/or contributing to the organization of the event.
This conference highlighted IFP School’s scientific activities dedicated to the economic analysis of the ecological transition.
