They did it with flying colors!
IFP School's SPE Student Chapter has won the Student Chapter Excellence Award for the seventh time since 2013 (including Gold Standard Chapter and Presidential Awards).
This distinction is awarded annually by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) to 20% of student chapters worldwide.
This year, IFP School's SPE Student Chapter was recognized for its programs in technical dissemination, professional development, member engagement, operations and community involvement.
This remarkable chapter was led by a multicultural team, made up of:
- Oluseyi Akinboade, President, Nigerian student of the Reservoir Geoscience and Engineering (RGE) program;
- Abdallah Ahamada El Badaoui, Vice President External, Comorian student in the Energy Technology Economics and Management (ETEM) program;
- Rodrigo Zeballos Espinoza, Vice President Internal, Bolivian student in the Petroleum Data Management (PDM) program;
- Nour Alawieh, Secretary, Lebanese student in the RGE program;
- Ikram Daoudi, Vice Secretary, Algerian student in the RGE program;
- Jana Aoun, Treasurer, Lebanese RGE student;
- Chloé Tournu, Vice Treasurer, French RGE student;
- Sheryl Valabdas, Head of Communication, Mozambican student in the ETEM program;
- Wissam El Maouch, Diversity and Inclusion Chair, Lebanese student in the ETEM program and
- Quentin Commine, Membership Chair, French student in the Energy and Products program.
SPE Student Chapter members will attempt to win another award at the Petrobowl 2023 finals, to be held October 16-18, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
