Abdallah El Badaoui, a student in the Energy Technology Economics and Management program (class of 2023), was amongst the 250 young leaders selected worldwide to attend the Future Leaders Climate Summit and the Aspen Ideas: Climate 2023 confernce held in Miami Beach, United States from March 3rd to 9th, 2023.
The Future Leaders Climate Summit aims to gather the most diverse group of 18-30-year-olds for three days to discuss climate policy, communications, advocacy, and individual action with climate and energy experts. The Future Leaders work with these experts and each other to develop ideas and recommendations for complex problems facing their communities today, from mitigating climate change, to adapting to extreme weather conditions, to preparing for a rapidly changing world that will likely include more political unrest, forced migration and security issues.
This was a chance for Abdallah to learn more about the intersection of climate and other fields and get to exchange with climate activists, environmentalists and professionals working together to mitigate the impact of climate change in their respective communities!
