Airbus Helicopters is the world's leading manufacturer of civil helicopters and one of the leading manufacturers of military helicopters. It was created under the name Eurocopter in 1992 following the merger of the helicopter divisions of the French company Aérospatiale (SNIAS) and the German company Deutsche Aerospace (DASA).
Employing around 22,000 people worldwide, Airbus Helicopters is the world's leading helicopter manufacturer, with a turnover of €6.3 billion. Its fleet currently includes 12,000 aircraft operated by more than 3,000 customers in approximately 150 countries. Airbus Helicopters has a strong international presence through its subsidiaries and affiliates in 24 countries and a worldwide network of maintenance centres, training centres, distributors and authorised agents.
