On May 13, as part of the Electricity Economics and Digital Transition Chair, IFP School hosted Dr. Fereidoon P. Sioshansi for a conference on his work, entitled "Transforming the Electricity Sector and the Role of Intelligent Distributed Generation and Storage". He explained to the audience how the electricity sector continues the evolution it has begun. "The energy sector has traditionally taken care to transport energy from power plants to customers' premises, " he said. "But with the arrival of distributed production and storage, there is a universe of possibilities on the other side of the meter."
Fereidoon P. Sioshansi is the founder and president of Menlo Energy Economics, an energy consulting firm based in San Francisco. He is also editor and publisher of Eenergy Informer and has previously worked for Southern Califormia Edison Company in Los Angeles, the Electric Power Research Institute in Palo Alto, National Economic Research Associates in San Francisco and ABB in Sacramento, California.
Created in 2018 and headed by Dr. Arash Farnoosh, the Electricity Economics and Digital Transition Chair brings together several research projects to better study new developments and challenges in the electricity market and the entire energy sector chain, from production to consumption.
