The average person in France consumes 146 liters of water a day.
But their water footprint, i.e. the quantity of water used indirectly to produce the goods they consume, amounts to 4,900 liters a day!
Accompanied by their Program Supervisor Stéphane Bourgeon, students in the Energy and Processes program (ENEP) learned about water-related issues and the impact of climate change on this resource through the "La Fresque de l'Eau" workshop, organized by the Eau'Dyssée association.
This playful workshop enabled them to build a global vision of the water cycle thanks to a collaborative game of 57 cards. The workshop is structured in four stages: the natural water cycle, the anthropogenic water cycle, the impact of human activity on the water cycle and the impact of climate change on these cycles.
The game begins by placing a card in the center of the table with the starting problem. Players are then given cards to think about and debate. The aim of the game is to place the cards in chronological order, in relation to the stated problem.
In this way, the workshop enabled everyone to recall the water cycle, to realize that water is becoming increasingly scarce, and that most of the freshwater withdrawn is not returned to the same environment. The workshop ended with the development of an individual and collective action plan and was followed by a two-day "water hackathon". We'll tell you more soon...
