IFP School, in partnership with IFP Training, has just launched a new Master's program in "Petroleum Geosciences" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This first intake includes 15 young engineers from Petronas, the industrial sponsor of this new program.
The 41-week course (11 weeks are devoted to subsurface resources and geothermal energy) leads to the award of a Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures Appliquées (DESA) conferring a Master's degree.
Courses are taught in English at Beicip-Franlab Asia by professors from IFP School's Georesources and Energy Center.
Lectures started on February 19.
Participants will return to France in May for a three-week field placement covering sedimentary basin geology and geophysical methods. They will be supervised by Mathilde Adelinet (Lecturer-Researcher at IFP School), Rémy Deschamps and Fadi Nader from the Earth Sciences and Environmental Technologies Department of IFP Energies nouvelles.
In addition to this program in Malaysia, three other off-site programs are underway in Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria and Senegal.
