Since 2020, ChooseMyCompany has published its annual ranking HappyIndex®AtSchool, which highlights the schools and universities in France that have provided the best support for their students during their studies.
This 100% participative, independent benchmark is based exclusively on the opinions of students. Through 20 questions, it evaluates five criteria, such as the quality of facilities and respect for the environment, academic teaching, student life, ties with industry and confidence in the future.
Three years after entering the ranking, IFP School has once again climbed into the top 10 in the 'Engineering Schools' category, taking 5th place!
Sabine Lalanne, Head of Communication at IFP School, tells us more about this fine performance.
1. Can you tell us about IFP School's results in this ranking? What does it mean for the School?
IFP School was awarded this label for the first time in November 2021 and since then it has steadily climbed up the rankings. In 2022, it came 6th in the "Engineering Schools" category and 4th in CSR out of 200 participating schools.
For this year's competition, we achieved an overall score of 8.52 out of 10, putting us in 5th place behind the École des Mines Paris tech, EURECOM, Paoli Tech Corse and Mines de Nancy. 89.1% of our students recommended IFP School, giving it an average score of 4.27/5.
We are very proud of this new distinction awarded by our students, which recognizes our commitment to them and reinforces IFP School's reputation and attractiveness.
These results underline the constant improvement of our training and the student experience offered at our School. This is the fruit of our many efforts and resources devoted to excellence in teaching, the integration of environmental issues into the curriculum and the quality of vocational integration, not to mention the quality of life on campus.
2. Is this ranking a measurement tool for improvement?
Absolutely. The students’ responses highlight IFP School's strengths, which should be maintained over the long term, such as the quality of training and teaching methods, which over 91% of students recommend, and confidence in the future, which 89.9% of students say they have. It is also a tool for progress, as it highlights the high expectations of our students, particularly in terms of sustainable development.
Sensitive to this issue, IFP School has made sustainable development a core part of its strategy for over ten years.
A number of sustainable development initiatives have already been carried out within the School. To name but a few...
In terms of training, besides the fundamentals (40% of courses) which apply to new energies, half of the courses are on the energy transition. Since the start of the 2022 academic year, the School has been committed to limiting CO2 emissions linked to air travel by lecturers and students (for the latter when doing their field trips and placements), recording a 48% drop in emissions over the 2022-2023 academic year! Not to mention the day-to-day actions taken by students and staff (eco-actions, reducing plastic waste, etc.).
Finally, our teams are also working on obtaining the Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (SD&SR) label.
Survey methodology: the HappyIndex®AtSchool 2023 survey was carried out between September 2022 and June 2023 among 95,000 participants from nearly 200 establishments, who gave their opinions via the ChooseMyCompany.com website.
